"Extradite Zakir Naik, India tells Malaysia"

The Times of India reports that India has requested the extradition of  controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Abdul Karim Naik, better known as Zakir Naik.

Many people in Malaysia especially Malaysians Indians have been asking to extradite this man to his native India.
India seeks his extradition

Hindraf even took the issue to court and the Deputy PM once said that he will be extradited if there was a formal request from India

The Indian process on Zakir Naik began after the Government of Bangladesh banned the broadcast of "Peace TV," a channel run by this controversial preacher in the country on allegtions that it iincited terrorism that was in  mid 2016.

The Bangladesh Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was reported to have said that the Gulshan café siege were  influenced by the channel. “ Many Islamic scholars have also complained about Dr. Zakir Naik”, said the Minister.

Taking that cue from Bangladesh India began its own investigations and began looking for Zakir Naik who had by then fled the country and is reported to have taken refuge in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

Malaysia's deputy PM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said in November 2017 that Naik will be extradited if a formal request is sent by India and it is believed that India has or is in the process of sending a formal  request to Malaysia.

The report also states that CDs/DVDs of his speeches will be shared with the prosecutors when case comes up for hearing in Malaysia.

The Eastern Standard Times efforts to get  in touch with Islamic Research foundation and
Harmony Media Pvt Ltd drew a blank.

In February this year the High Court threw out Hindraf’s lawsuit against the government for allegedly harbouring fugitive Muslim preacher Zakir Naik, from India, and granting him permanent resident (PR) status.

In that case brought by HINDRAF,  its  lawyer S Karthigesan said Justice Azizah Nawawi ruled in chambers and said,  “The sole ground from the judge was that Zakir Naik should be named as a party in the suit. Not naming him makes this case unsustainable.”

MAHATHIR'S DESPERATE TO STOP ANWAR.

By X'roy Bogel 17/102020  .....SO DESPERATE HE MAY JOIN FORCES WITH NAJIB.     Looks like there is something seriously wrong. Senile?   After all the twists and turns in the relationship between Mahathir and Anwar Ibrahim one thing has become abundantly clear, Mahathir is fearful of Anwar Ibrahim becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia After sacking Anwar from his position in both Government and UNO Mahathir was of the opinion that time will push Anwar out of the limelight and that he'd be forgotten he assumed Anwar will eventually fade away into oblivion Time has now proved Mahathir wrong  because now 22 years after that sacking, Anwar Ibrahim has proved to be more relevant than Mahathir Mohammed, hsi son Mukhriz and many others  in Malaysian politics and looks like the best candidate available for the position of Malaysian Prime Minister today. The Malays in particular should sit up and think intelligently. They have to put on their intelligent th...
